EDceptional Welcomes Mary Doyle as Director of Development
EDceptional welcomes Mary Doyle as director of development. A long-time advocate for educational equity, Doyle brings more than two decades of experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising and partnership development to this role—along with a deep commitment to improving outcomes for Rochester students.
Doyle joins EDceptional after leading advocacy efforts for Rochester-area schools through her work with Causewave Community Partners. Her background also includes consulting for numerous education-focused organizations, including the State University of New York (SUNY), where she supported school evaluations and charter application reviews.
Doyle’s experience spans both local and state education systems. She previously served as chief of staff to the superintendent in the Rochester City School District, where she oversaw school innovation initiatives. Doyle spent nearly a decade in New York City, supporting low-performing schools and managing state oversight and monitoring efforts.
“Mary’s expertise in school improvement, fundraising, and cross-sector collaboration make her a powerful addition to the EDceptional team,” said Sebrone Johnson, EDceptional CEO. “Her deep roots in Rochester and her dedication to school improvement, along with her experience at the state and city levels uniquely position her to advance our mission.”
Doyle holds an advanced certificate in School District Leadership from the University of Rochester, a master’s degree in Education Policy and Management from Harvard University, and a bachelor’s degree from Tufts University. She is a certified New York State School District Leader (SDL) and a graduate of Rochester’s East High School.
